A practical business check
Why calculate your plotting-project site visit cost?
A site visit is necessary when a serious buyer wants to inspect the land. The hidden problem is the number of early visits made only because a buyer cannot clearly understand the project from a PDF, brochure, phone call or location pin. The salesperson travels to the site, explains the roads and plot positions, and later discovers that the buyer wanted a different budget, plot size, facing or location.
This calculator helps you put a value on that repeated work. It combines travel, fuel, time and optional staff expenses, then lets you test a simple question: if buyers could explore the plotted layout in its real-world location before travelling, what might change?
The answer is not a promise from Plotizo. It is a scenario created from your own business numbers. That makes the result useful for deciding whether an interactive plotting map deserves a place in your sales process.

How to use the calculator correctly
- Choose your currency and distance unit.Use INR and kilometres for India, or select the combination that matches your market.
- Enter the one-way distance. The calculator automatically counts the return journey, so do not double the distance yourself.
- Add the time value honestly.Include driving, waiting and the time spent showing plots. Use the cost of the person who normally handles the visit.
- Estimate the total sales effort.Multiply the plots you want to sell by the average buyer visits needed for one sale. If you do not have records, start with a cautious estimate and update it later.
- Enter the actual Plotizo quote.Plotizo pricing can vary with layout size and work involved, so use the amount quoted for your project instead of treating the default value as a fixed price.
- Test more than one reduction.Begin with the cautious 20% setting. Then test 35% and 50% only if your sales process makes those assumptions reasonable.
Built for plot sales
Who can benefit from this tool?
Layout developers
Estimate the travel and team time being spent across the complete inventory, especially when the project is far from the city.
Realtors and brokers
Check whether sending a clearer digital project view before booking a visit could help filter casual enquiries from visit-ready buyers.
Sales managers
Compare the cost of repeated visits with the cost of giving every salesperson one consistent map link to explain the project.
Landowners and colonizers
Understand costs that may not appear in the marketing budget but are repeatedly paid through fuel, staff hours and personal time.
Marketing agencies
Use a transparent estimate when recommending digital sales material to a plotting-project client.
Projects outside the city
Longer travel distances increase the cost of every low-intent visit, making early buyer understanding especially valuable.
Worked example
A realistic plotting-project scenario
Imagine a developer has 36 plots at a site located 18 km from the office. One complete visit takes about 2.5 hours. Fuel costs ₹105 per litre, the vehicle gives 15 km per litre, the time is valued at ₹300 per hour, and refreshments or small expenses add ₹150 per visit.
If the team averages five physical visits for each plot sold, the full project could involve 180 visits. A cautious assumption that better digital information helps avoid 20% of those visits means 36 potential avoided visits.
This does not mean every developer will save ₹35,472. The example simply shows how the formula works. Shorter distances, fewer visits or a lower reduction assumption will produce a different result.
Read the numbers properly
What each result means—and what it does not mean
Estimated visit cost avoided
The gross value of the visits your chosen scenario assumes could be avoided. This is before paying for Plotizo.
Estimated net benefit
The avoided visit cost after subtracting the Plotizo quote. This is the fairest number to use when comparing cost and benefit.
Benefit-to-cost ratio
A result of 3× means your assumptions produce ₹3 of potentially avoided visit cost for every ₹1 spent. It is not a sales-return guarantee.
Break-even visits
The minimum number of visits that would need to be avoided for the estimated visit cost to equal the Plotizo fee.
What if the net benefit is negative?
That is useful information, not a failed calculation. It means the map may not pay for itself through travel savings alone under your current assumptions. Consider its other possible uses—buyer understanding, easier sharing and consistent project explanation—separately.
Should I select the highest reduction?
No. Select the percentage you can reasonably defend. A smaller credible estimate is more valuable than a large number chosen only to make the result attractive.
Does this mean site visits should stop?
No. The goal is to make physical visits more informed, not remove them. Serious buyers should still verify the site, documents and project details before deciding.
What costs are not included?
The tool does not value lead generation, sales conversion, staff scheduling, vehicle depreciation, taxes or future price changes unless you include an amount in the optional fields.
Common questions
Frequently asked questions
Does this calculator guarantee that Plotizo will reduce my site visits?
No. You choose the reduction percentage yourself. The result is a planning scenario, not a guarantee of visits, savings, leads or sales.
What is an “unnecessary” site visit?
It is a visit that might have been avoided if the buyer had first understood the exact location, layout, road network, plot position or project suitability. A qualified buyer’s inspection is not unnecessary.
Can an interactive Google Map layout replace every physical visit?
No. It helps a buyer explore and shortlist before travelling. Legal verification, on-ground inspection and the final buying decision still happen outside this calculator.
What should I enter as the value of one hour?
Use a realistic cost for the owner, salesperson or team member handling the visit. You can use salary cost, billable value or what that hour could otherwise produce in your business.
I am a broker. Do I have to reveal the developer’s details?
Not necessarily. The information shared with buyers should follow your agreement and sales process. Discuss the required branding, contact details and map content with Plotizo before the project is prepared.
Why are gross savings and net benefit shown separately?
Gross avoided cost shows the possible value before paying for the service. Net benefit subtracts the Plotizo fee, so it gives a more honest comparison.
Can I use the calculator outside India?
Yes. Choose USD, EUR, GBP or AED and switch to miles per gallon if needed. The business logic remains the same.
Does Plotizo receive the data I enter?
No. Calculations happen in your browser, and your last entries are stored only in that browser for convenience. They are not submitted to Plotizo by the calculator.
Where can I see Plotizo pricing?
Visit the Plotizo pricing page or request a project-specific quote. Layout size and work requirements can affect the final price.
